For 100 years now, Chevrolet has given America some of the best pickup trucks in the world. To celebrate this grand centennial, it unveiled the next-generation Silverado at a special event in Texas late last year. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado makes big promises to be both more powerful and more efficient.
To boost the truck’s fuel efficiency, Chevrolet had them lose weight. However, unlike other brands, Chevy did not switch its beds to aluminum, and is more dedicated to steel than ever. In the new trucks, “a higher-grade (steel) alloy is used in the roll-formed, high-strength-steel bed floor, contributing to a bed that is more functional and lighter weight.”
The 2019 Silverado also made an appearance at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in early January. At this event, we learned even more about the new trucks—most notably, that it will be adding a new 3.0-liter six-cylinder Duramax® turbo diesel as an engine option. This makes us super excited at Don Larson GM.
We also love the trucks’ bold new styling, especially the new grille design. There are also numerous interior features that you are sure to love including the clever hidden storage compartments in the seatbacks of the second row.
Of course, we have always loved Chevy’s trucks, but we look forward eagerly to when we can show them to you in person!
